Preserving Nature: Calamiro and Clients Lead Mangrove Planting in Baler

In a meaningful teambuilding effort, Calamiro Travel & Adventours, along with PwC Philippines, planted 50 mangrove seedlings to help restore and protect this vital ecosystem.

The Aurora Memorial National Park, a protected area located within the Sierra Madre mountain range between Nueva Ecija and Aurora, spans 5,676 hectares (14,030 acres). Established in 1937 and later dedicated to First Lady Aurora Aragon Quezon, the park covers 50 kilometers along the scenic Bongabon-Baler road. It’s home to lush lowland dipterocarp forests and provides a habitat for a rich diversity of wildlife, including the endangered Philippine eagle and various reptiles and birds like vultures, falcons, and hawks.

The local government promotes the park as an eco-tourism destination, showcasing some of the most important rainforests in the region. Our teambuilding activity highlights the significance of conservation efforts in such places, which are crucial for the sustainability of both permanent and shifting agriculture (kaingin) and forestry.

Our tree planting event took place at the Baler Mangrove and Seagrass Sanctuary, a coastal conservation site aimed at preserving mangrove forests and seagrass beds. Mangroves provide a critical habitat for marine life and act as a natural buffer against coastal erosion and storms, making them an essential ecosystem for environmental resilience.

Through this teambuilding initiative, we demonstrated our commitment to environmental preservation while fostering teamwork and collaboration. Together, we are dedicated to safeguarding these ecosystems for future generations.
